Kabul House was founded in 2001 by Abdul Qazi, a visionary with a deep passion for sharing the rich culinary traditions of Afghanistan. Abdul brought years of experience in the restaurant industry to Kabul House, including operating an Italian restaurant in Evanston, IL, for over five years.


His journey into Afghan cuisine began in 1999 when he opened Afghan NX, laying the foundation for what would become a beloved local institution. After Abdul’s passing, his son Akmal Qazi took over the restaurant, continuing his father’s legacy with dedication and heart.
